The Parador preserves the structure of the former Convent of the 18th century. It has been erected on the ruins of a temple devoted to the "Concordia of Emperor August" and offers its guests to discover the patrimonial wealth of the very beautiful town of Mérida and its natural surroundings.

The Parador is equipped with several meeting rooms of different capacities. The most emblematic of these is the one located in the former main chapel of the Franciscan Convent, which is nowadays used for civil weddings and all sorts of ceremonies and celebrations.

During its long history, the buildings today hosting the Parador of Mérida had different uses; among them, hospital, asylum and even prison. Its use as Parador began in 1933 in historical parts of buildings with more than 2000 years of history, among which the interior cloister and the beautiful gardens where the "Jardín de Antigüedades" (Garden of Antiquities) has been installed, an archaeological complex formed by Mudéjar, Roman and Visigoth elements.

The Parador is located in the heart of the town and offers parking and garage lots.

The stars of our restaurant's table are the assorted products of "Ibérico" products (ham, sausages) and cheese with PGS, sirloin of "Retinta" beef "Castúo"-style (this beef is autochtonous from Extremadura), roasted pig or lamb and our exquisite choice of desserts prepared by our expert pastry cooks at our bakery.
