Day 01, BARCELONA -  FROM BARCELONA TO PENEDES

Arrival to Barcelona. Our Driver/guide will pick you up at the airport, port or rail station and take you one hour south to the Impressive winegrowing region of the Penedés, the land of “D.O. Cava”.

Lunch in a local restaurant in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the most important village for cava. After tasting a typical Catalan meal ,  visit to the top small cava producers in Penedes, Recaredo. Guided tour and tasting of a 2007 vintage cava. Head further south to the little village of Gimenelles where you will be staying overnight in an 18th century Catalan country farmhouse.  Arrival at accommodation and free time before dinner at the hotel.

Day 02,  PENEDES: THE LAND OF CAVA
Breakfast at the hotel.  Penedès is the birthplace of a wide variety of excellent wines, but it’s fair to say that the Queen among the wines of the region is the Cava – the sparkling wine of Spain.

During the visits at two wineries you will learn more about the local grapes that give the Cava it’s right character – Xarel.lo, Macabeo, and Parellada. The tasting will be focused either entirely on Cava, or combined with the cellars quality still wines. You will be guided by some amazing winemakers.

Between the two visits we will enjoy a delicious lunch. It can either be enjoyed at one of the wineries we visit, or at a selected restaurant specialized in the local cuisine.

Arrival at accommodation and free time before dinner at hotel. Today we will enjoy a special meal. Dinner starts with a local olive oil tasting and follows with a special dinner paired with 3 different local wines.

Day 03,  PRIORAT: DOQ
Priorat is one of only two regions in Spain (the first being Rioja), that has been awarded the DOC status (DOQ in Catalonia), the quality denomination of origin.

After breakfast we will visit the vineyards and talk about the special conditions of the region.  We will visit the cellar, and do a tasting of the amazing wines produced at the winery.

Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the cozy restaurants in Priorat, specialized in local slow food. The food of the region is the perfect match for the intense wines of Priorat.

After lunch we will discovering the history of this region visiting the most famous Carthusian Ruins or Siurana, the last Moorish stronghold.  We strongly recommend the visit to the Monasteries in “La Ruta del Cister”.

Arrival at accommodation and free time before dinner at the hotel.  During the dinner we will enjoy the local cuisine in the relaxing dining room.

Day 04, WINE REGION - BARCELONA: ANCIENT BARCINO & TAPAS TOUR
After breakfast we leave the hotel and the driver takes  us to Barcelona.

In the afternoon, our expert official guide pick us up at the Meeting Point to start an enjoyable tour in one of the coolest neighborhood of the city: El Born. Through the Triumphal Arch we’ll arrive to the Ciutadella Park, one of the most comfortable urban parks of South Europe, this walk guides us to the magnificent France Rail Station,  At the renovated Born market we will learn much more about Barcelona and Catalonian history.

Once there, we’ll start a tapas tour, where we’ll discover in little bites’ great tastes! And strolling through the narrow streets, we will discover more secrets about Barcelona and its history.

Balance of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 05, BARCELONA
Breakfast in your hotel. Private transfer to the airport, port or rail station.
