Day 1: San Sebastian
Arrive to San Sebastian on your own. Free day in San Sebastian leisure. Your information packet containing complete route descriptions and materials will be waiting for you at your hotel. We recommend using this day explore and get acquainted with the city and surroundings such as the amazing old quarter and the picturesque La Concha beach. Accommodations. 

Day 2: Walk San Sebastián to Getaria (26 km / 16.1 mi)
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel this morning as we will begin a challenging walk today. This morning’s starting point will be at La Concha beach, we head up towards Monte Igueldo, here you will feel a pronounced and continual uphill walk until arriving at Venta de Orio.  From here you’ll continue to ascend until arriving to the town of Orio and continuation along the Cantabrian sea to the lovely village of Getaria. Overnight in Getaria. 

Day 3: Walk Getaria to Deba (18 Km / 11.1 mi)
Breakfast. Today’s walking stage includes continuous back-to-back ascents and descents. You’ll find the most pronounced descent today once you’ve reach the Sanctuary of Itziar – from here it’s all downhill until you reach the beautiful beach of Deba. Accommodations in Deba. 

Day 4: Walk Deba to Markina (24 km / 14.9 mi)
Breakfast. This mornings walk will take you away from the Cantabrian sea and into the Basque mountain region of Arnoate. You’ll experience mountain trails and rural roads while discovering the beauty of the Basque countryside during this stage. Overnight in Markina. 

Day 5: Walk Markina to Gernika (26 km / 16.1 mi)
Breakfast. Today we continue our trek away from the sea through easy country paths. After a long day you will reach the historic town of Gernika, in the Urdaibai Biosphere reserve. This town was also made famous by Picasso in his most famous painting with the same name. Overnight in historical Gernika. 

Day 6: Walk Gernika to Lezama (20 km / 12.4 mi)
Breakfast. Today’s final stage is marked by an initial challenging uphill walk that will take you to the town of Morga. This entire stage takes place in mountain trails and country roads of great beauty that take you little by little to your final destination, the town of Lezama. Overnight in Lezama.

Day 7: Walk Lezama to Bilbao (12 km / 7.4 mi)
Breakfast. This morning’s final stage is relatively short but quite challenging, it is marked by a pronounced climb to Monte Abril which separates you from Bilbao.  Once you arrive to Bilbao you’ll enter the Plaza de Unamuno and continue towards the Old Quarter of the capital city of the Province of Vizcaya and home to the impressive Guggenheim Museum. Accommodations this evening in Bilbao. 

Day 8: Bilbao
