LOCATION
While crossing the bridge over the Lima river, you are able to identify the silhouette of the hotel, but you will not believe that you are really going to spend a few days there. On the hill of Santa Luzia, just behind the magnificent Sanctuary of Santa Luzia - it is possible to make out the outlines of an eclectic styled building, with an air of "fin de siecle", by the architect Miguel Ventura Terra.
Head to the center of Viana and start to climb towards Santa Luzia.Arriving at the Pousada, a wooded park area and a grand welcome await you. The building evokes cold sea vacation, tea terraces and long conversations on the balconies and gardens. And that's what you can do during your stay.

In a space that combines the green of the hills, the silver of the river and the blue of the sea on its walls and curtains, come taste the best of Minho's cuisine. If you prefer more international flavors, you will also find a beautiful range of options, always with the best views in the world.
In the dishes you taste the temper from which Minho - and the pousada restaurant kitchen - are made. In fantastic days of spring and summer, you can make all meals on the terrace in front of the restaurant.
Enjoy the Bar with a delightfully old structure and a large comfortable hall, in fine weather days the bar comes even more alive with the option to use the terrace and the balconies in front of the hotel. Sophisticated and cozy, the original lamps shine and give light to the conversations which are extended in the comfort of sofas.
Above the conversations, there is a stunning tapestry by Almada Negreiros, sent to make it in 1957 to occupy this space, which is borrowed in specific shows from Portalegre tapestry. It's worth trying to understand the lores told by the old figures.
The cover charge, including fresh and toasted bread, butter, olives, sea salt and olive oil comes to the table, as well as snacks trilogy, which may surprise both the freshness of a smoked salmon as the warmth of a cod cookie freshly done. To bring some of the flavors of the mountains to this well supplied table, you can always try a green cabbage soup at Minho's way or an onion soup with grated Parmesan: there is no cold that can resist or a heart that does not heat.
